From slavery up until todays big problems we are facing here and now
Some basic facts about slavery from the time of the Civil War until today.
I have gone back to the time before the Civil War and researched the origins behind slavery since the inception of our nation. It was supposed to be illegal to import slaves after 1808 as decreed by congress, and the only reason supposedly, for wanting more to be allowed in, was the manufacture of the cotton gin that made cotton farming cost effective once more. Slaves were all over the south and the majority were used for farming, as well as other crops besides cotton. Some were used in business and even manufacturing. Some worked in the cities, loaned out by their masters to earm wages for their masters , developed skills that they were able to use for gaining enough money for themselves to purchase their freedom. Tobacco was a big money maker as well. Britain’s ships were responsible for the majority of the slave trade up until 1807 when it was outlawed by parliament. Denmark also passed laws against slavery. Then Sweden and the Dutch ended slavery also. By 1817 the Portugese, France, and other nations had reached the same anti slavery point that most of the world nations had.
It was still considered necessary by the plantation owners throughout the south and other big farming areas where labor was the bigest factor in crop management and profit. It was still being carried out by slave traders under various illegal means. Traders shipped men and women in ships under the most brutal conditions immaginable and many died in crossings. On occasion, when being chased by ships closing in, they would tie together slaves and dump them overboard to get rid of evidence. I cannot imagine that it happened very often, because of costs involved but it did happen. Then their were the sugar plantations that needed manpower desperately, and it was difficult to get slaves at the time. The buying and selling of slaves and splitting up of family groups and children to be sold seperately is to horrible to imagine in todays world. Their were a great many factors that eventually led to the clash of North versus the South. The spread of territory into new states and heading west, led to the south wanting slavery to be allowed into new states like Missouri that was having a civil war of its own inside its borders.
Leading up to the south declaring itself secceded from the union, were a great many acts and battles within the north and south. It was a part of the growth of America away from the idea of slavery and the often overlooked history of indentured servitude prevalent since our countries beginnings. In the north their were serious complaints from workers in almost every state about slaves taking jobs away from white’s in many different industries. Their was admittedly still a great deal of predijuice against blacks. Abolition groups grew very quickly among free white people of the north. John Brown was one of many that fought against slavery along with newspaper editor Willam Lloyd Garrison. He was in the forefront of the abolitionist movement and a vocal critic of the whole system. The point of all this is to show how servitude developed after the end of the war. Once the south was defeated, and bankrupt and starving, with almost every industry and a very large part of it’s rail system destroyed, the south was in danger of being overrun. Northern carpetbaggers, whose aims were to plunder anything and everything, to takeover lands and business, to litterally rape the south were stopped largely by the genius of Lincoln. When asked by Gen Grant about how to treat southerners after the surrender. He told Grant to ” Let them up easy”.
The way Grant followed Lincolns advice was brilliant, to pardon all soldiers to go home and be good citizens, and so block all attempts for vengance and retribution by northerners. Never the less it was the northern influence that gave former slaves the opportunities to advance in almost all areas and even eventually, allowed the vote and political office for a few but it didn’t last very long. History has been written about reconstruction and the development of the democratic party system of suppressing blacks. The KKK was started by officers from the south and a bunch of young pranksters as a club. What it developed into was a hate filled group of whites to strike fear into the hearts of all blacks everywhere in the south. The democratic party fought every step up until the 1960s when it was forced onto them , kicking and screaming to the civil rights bill’s passage under Lyndon Johnson. The democratic party has been the instrument of suppression on black people from just after the civil war, around 1877. I am completely dumbfounded as to why blacks today vote almost exclusively democratic. They have been kept down and suppressed under democratic rule and still they vote for them. The democratic party has always claimed they were for the black people yet they have historically blocked any and all attempts; usually from republican backed measures, to help them. Democrats fought tooth and nail to keep the civil rights measure from being enacted. Remember George Wallace?
Then Senator John F Kennedy voted against the civil rights act. Then after becoming President put Bobby Kennedy into wiretapping Martin Luther King, looking for dirt on him to stop him believing him to be a communist. I can only put the blame on news organizations and TV news shows for not telling the truth and pointing these things out to people and pursuing it. In todays world ,it is not easy for people to keep themselves abreast of all the news that effects them and their community or state. News organizations are definetely run by liberals and Democrats today and they have shown themselves to suppress unfavorable news towards Democrats and expand coverage of any news against Republicans. It is unquestionable that it is true, and has been proved over and over again by independent news sources. It is a fact that most liberals are included in the Democrat party. By that I mean, my definition of liberal is a far left extremist and socialist trying to bring down our republic. They do not want a republic, where anyone can rise by their own effort to be a business owner or self sufficient rich individual. They know they cannot survive if they have to make their own way in the world. They want government to take care of them and they want jobs in government that they can never be fired from. Their are a lot of politicians out there that never had a real job or worked in any business or made their way up the ladder. We have numerous senators and congress people who never held any kind of job in their lives.
I believe the truth will be apparent to everyone if they watch the election coverage this year. From the many election results around the country, we will see the will of the people shown against entrenched interests from both parties. If a congress person or senator has not performed to the satisfaction of the people in their particular community, they will find themselves back on the street, unemployed! The President knows now that he is a one term president, and he is trying every trick in his book to stop any kind of criticism from coming out from any source. President Obama has declared war on Fox news through Anita Dunn for their criticism of him on a few opinion shows. When that became to obvious they canned her as well. Just like they had to remove Van Jones when his admission that he was a communist and proud of it hit the news. Fox has always been fair in coverage of news stories and from my point of view, a little to leftist, trying to be fair. Anita Dunn was the one that said her two favorite persons to quote were Mao Zedung and Mother Theresa. She was the one that had Fox News under the gun, so to speak. We have to get over the attitude of: Kick them all out except my Congressman or my Senator! Their are a few I would like to keep in office as checks on the others but it has to be all. This whole mess we are in now has been tried before. Does anyone remember the old saying? Those that do not understand or read history are bound to repeat it. It has all been tried before in history, but not in the history books we are reading now.
The people that wrote the history books being taught today in schools, have changed it to fit their theory of what was wrong about it. According to liberals our whole system of government is wrong and we broke every rule their is, beginning our country. I would be the first to admit that our history is filled with inequities to the poor and disadvantaged as well as the Indian tribes. But the opportunities were there as well for anyone to get ahead and prosper. It is man himself that is evil and suppresses those around him and not government. Unless that government is a dictatorship, communist, socialist, or other suppressive abusive kind. Those men that wrote our Consitiution and Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independance, tried to make a country to protect its citizens and put those rights down on paper for people to live by. It is not perfect, nor can any document be perfect, if it is drawn up by men.. It is the best we have at the moment and has served us fairly well for over 233 years. But I digress from my original intent. The democratic party has been trying to gain unlimited power since before Reagan became President. They want a socialist style government or a Plutocracy and they all want to be in on it when Obama drives our economy into default and bankrupts our monetary system. When we can no longer pay our debtor nations back,
